Organizational Structure

The Carl Zeiss Group is organized into five business groups with a total of 13 strategic business units. The business groups and strategic business units produce and distribute optical systems such as lithography systems, industrial measuring technology, microscopes, surgical microscopes, ophthalmic diagnostic and therapy systems, eyeglass lenses, planetarium technology, cine and camera lenses, binoculars, riflescopes and spotting scopes.

Carl Zeiss AG manages the Group in its role as a strategic holding company.
Its primary function is the ongoing development of the business activities and of the corporate portfolio. It also provides the corporate management and service functions.
